This calendar covers the period from September 2010 to July 2011
Our AGM concert will be on Saturday October 2nd in the Housman Room following the AGM at 5.30. The concert will consist of orchestral and vocal items that do not require extensive rehearsal. All club members are invited to take part.
On Saturday February 26th we will perform two of Puccini's Trittico - Gianni Schicchi and Suor Angelica. This will be in a new venue - St. Peter's Church, Ealing. Please do not confuse this with the venue of the July 9th Elgar Orchestral Concert, which will be held in St. Peter's Church, Belsize Park.
Other highlights are the Opera Workshop (May 7th), an All Winds Play Day (Feb 12th), a Concert for Singers (not to include opera) (June 29th), and an Early Music Concert (March 16th).
Themed chamber concerts this season are "Nothing Too Serious !" on December 11th and "Sounds of Spring" on April 2nd.
We are also pleased to announce that there will be another Joint Concert with the UCL Chamber Music Club on October 27th. Please contact Hugh Rosenbaum as soon as possible if you would like to submit an item for this event.
A reminder that you should not wait to be invited to take part in any concert. Just contact the organiser of a concert that you are interested in playing in and discuss your involvement. It is also fine for solo instrumentalists to submit items to concerts labelled "Chamber". The organiser will say if there is room on the programme. The "Open" concerts are completely un-themed and the organiser will not refuse anyone unless the programme is full or the item submitted is too long (10min is the guideline maximum).
I look forward to another season of great music-making.
Graham Bowler, Music Secretary
