OCMC Calendar 2010/11

I am pleased to announce that our President Sir Neville Marriner will conduct an Orchestral Workshop on Saturday 14th July. The work will be Brahms Symphony No. 1. As with previous workshops we will invite students and alumni from the Pro Corda International Chamber Music Academy to supplement our orchestra.

Another highlight is a Concerto Workshop on Saturday February 25th, and we would like to invite all budding soloists to consider putting themselves forward to play.

Please note that the Opera – Bizet's Carmen – has been timetabled later in the season, on Saturday 5th May, and the Opera Workshop has been moved earlier, on Saturday November 12th.

I am also pleased to announce that there will be another Joint Concert with the UCL Chamber Music Club on November 2nd.

A reminder that you should not wait to be invited to take part in any concert. Just contact the organiser of a concert that you are interested in playing in and discuss your involvement. It is also fine for solo instrumentalists to submit items to concerts labelled “Chamber”. The organiser will say if there is room on the programme. The “Open” concerts are completely un-themed and the organiser will not refuse anyone unless the programme is full or the item submitted is too long (10 minutes is the guideline maximum).
